The McGrath family moved to Amesbury, Massachusetts when Paul was two years old and except for short periods of time, Paul spent all of his life in Amesbury. He attended Amesbury schools, from Kindergarten through High School.

Paul started Amesbury Youth Hockey at the instructional level at age 5. He was a little, freckled faced kid with the map of Ireland all over his face. He took to hockey like a fish to water and played for 15 years, from Mites through High School. Paul continued his love of hockey at college in Lake Placid, New York. He was also an ardent Bruins fan and enjoyed going into the city for live games.

Ryan, Paul's son, is following Dad's interest in hockey. After participating in a variety of high school sports, including hockey and golf, he's an avid sports fan.

Paul's love of life and ability to live life to its fullest every minute of his brief time here will forever keep him in our hearts. We miss him terribly.

We thank you all for supporting this event and wish all of the participants good luck. Paul would have had a ball!
